Michaelmas and Multiculturality + Daily Runes

Wings are the same be them angels or birds

Today is Michaelmas, a Christian festivity revolving around the Archangel St. Michael, great warrior and protector, one of the most important and well-known entities of the proverbial Heavenly Choirs. Although mainly assumed to be a Christian entity, St. Michael and other angels, especially Gabriel, appear in Islam and Judaism as well, and are often associated with beings of other cultures, such as the Valkyries of Norse myth. In the form of Devas, the concept of the Angels is also known in Hinduism and indeed, winged protectors, messengers and guides are quite common in ancient civilizations.

These cross-cultural manifestations are ubiquitous if we know where to look. The names and attributes vary but the purpose of each being remains, so we can correlate any protector of warriors and divine general with St. Michael at some level. Some belief systems, such as the Yoruba, are concerned mostly with material existence and therefore, we can't find beings similar to the Angels in them because of the difference in vibration, but if we compare purviews, we can find connections between this Archangel and Ogun or Shango. In Greek myth we can establish relationships between him and Athena. Back to Germanic beliefs, Odin, Tyr and Thor all share connections with St. Michael, and so does Horus in the Egyptian pantheon. We also have pop culture to extract information from. DC's Superman, Marvel's Captain America and Lord of the Ring's Aragorn all have similarities with St. Michael, for instance. These coherences aren't necessarily direct, but from a narrative perspective, they offer us invaluable clues to expand our approach to the stories that we experience and remember. Each node of connection between different stories allows us to open avenues that we never imagined. Understanding one character offers insight into the rest.

St. Michael is the leader of the celestial armies against the onslaught of Hell, undaunted and unbeatable. He works with the Blue Light Ray which grants Strength and Courage and vibrates particularly with the Throat Chakra and Third Eye. Can you think of entities in your own culture or characters you like which share these qualities? Then you can use the energy of these entities in connection with this heavenly general today. There's no difference to the Universe, one code can be used with codes that are akin to it, even if only partially. There are trillions of paths to walk but only one goal. Opposites meet, like attracts like and one mirror is all mirrors. So, even if you don't identify yourself with Christianity or have never worked with angels, you can take advantage of festivities such as today's for your own needs. It's just a matter of getting rid of preconceptions.

As for me, I'll do a special Rune Reading for my country using the energy of St. Michael, which is why you see Thurisaz and a particular Rune I carved for Venezuela's rebirth some time ago, in the picture below. The skies in my city are stormy and I find that works to my advantage too. I encourage you to harness this day to your advantage!

Night Rune: Othala

I enter the darkened house of old friends, I perceive their mother and her light. I must speak and offer medicine to many people, even if they ignore me.

Daylight Rune: Jera

Every action has a product and associated consequences. Acting from fear produces fear, acting from Love produces Love. Formalize contracts already signed and put them to work, synchronize your word with your effort. From the most terrible breakdown emerges the most profound learning. Trust the fruits of your labor, the beauty of your Service, the clarity of your Purpose. This period demands the utmost dedication, take care of your energy, pay attention to what you consume, observe the abundance of your orchard and use it efficiently. Return to the roots and foment them, increase the vitality of your Tree and you shall receive juicier fruits and more radiant flowers. Fortunate is not to be hoped for, but to be built room by room, word by word, choice by choice.
