Urban Shamanism

En mi calidad de Narrador, exploro historias desde todos los puntos de vista que puedo, y uno de los más fascinantes es la imagen. Desde hace varios meses he estado trabajando en un proyecto personal de narrativa visual que involucra diseño digital, fotografía y eventualmente, otros formatos. En el área de diseño, trabajo con dos conceptos: los Mandalas y las Atalayas.

As a Storyteller, I explore stories from every viewpoint I can, and one of the most fascinating is the image. For the past several months, I've been working on a personal project of visual narrative that involves digital design, photography and eventually, other formats. In the area of design, I work with two concepts: Mandalas and Watchtowers.

Ya que todo el Universo está basado en patrones y movimientos circulares, esencialmente todo tipo de contenido e información se puede representar en Mandalas. Si bien mi exploración hasta ahora es casi totalmente estética y vibracional, con el tiempo la expandiré a más áreas como la Astrología, la Historia y el Misticismo.

Since everything in the Universe is based on circular patterns and movements, essentially all kinds of content and information can be represented in Mandalas. Although my exploration thus far has been almost entirely aesthetic and vibrational, with time I'll expand it to more areas such as Astrology, History and Mysticism.

Las Atalayas son un concepto muy distinto que extraje de mi juego de rol favorito: Mago: El Despertar, de White Wolf. En este juego, las Atalayas son como faros espirituales que canalizan poder mágico directamente a las almas de personas con la capacidad de modificar el código de la realidad a través de su voluntad e imaginación. Adopté esta idea por su complejidad y belleza, y he estado creando mis propios faros energéticos con propósitos particulares. Como los Mandalas, se pueden usar para expresar toda clase de información e ideas.

The Watchtowers are a very different concept I extracted from my favorite roleplaying game: White Wolf's Mage: The Awakening. In this game, the Watchtowers are like spiritual beacons that channel magical power directly to the souls of people with the capacity to modify the code of reality through their willpower and imagination. I adopted this idea because of its complexity and beauty, and I've been creating my own energy beacons with particular purposes. As with Mandalas, they can be used to express all kinds of information and ideas.

I'll be posting these works here from now on, hoping that the community will appreciate them. I enjoy working with them a lot, and I'd be more than happy to participate in any joint projects if anyone thinks they can be used in tandem with their own artistic and spiritual work.
