My first Hive PowerUp! Giving Back is Always Rewarding
I've been in the platform for nearly five months now, but this is the first time that I join a #HivePUD. I was still trying to figure out what this day was about, so I hadn't gotten around to making the decision, but now I plan to do this as regularly as possible. My powerup was humble this time, but it'll grow too!
And it'll grow because giving back pays a lot better than we were taught to believe. When we invest on communities and people, we slowly gain their trust and support, which in turn boosts our own capacity to support others. There are a myriad ways to invest, the easiest and quickest is with money, but we can also offer expertise, knowledge, collaboration and quality.
My experience in Hive has been eyeopening in many ways, but I think the single most fortunate and profound learning that I've had thus far is that, for the first time ever, I feel I'm in a context where the most engaged individuals are also the most supportive, where investing in quality truly begets quality, where work is appreciated on merit and effort.
In essence, material resources are merely constructs, narratives that we populate with our dreams and strengthen through our faith. The most important asset that each and every one of us has is trustworthiness, reliability. It doesn't matter how much money you have, if nobody can trust you, nobody will want to do honest business with you, or help you in your projects. Trust is the true currency in these parts, the more we build on it, the more we grow, and the more our entire system grows around us.
So I decided to join the Hive PowerUp initiative, because I firmly believe in this platform, its authors, witnesses, moderators and developers. I've been honored with three curations a week and thus I've been able to corroborate for myself the enormous potential and value of this community. I know that my investment will be returned tenfold, because this project is far-reaching, expansive and beautiful far beyond the numbers and the stats.
I choose to focus my energy, attention, service and discipline on this work, so you'll see a lot more powerups and delegations from me in the coming months. It's the best way to let you guys know how much I appreciate being here, with you!
