The path of the Storyteller

A few years ago, during a period when I experiencd huge personal transformations and revelations, I could understand my Purpose, the ulterior mission that I must fulfill during my time in this world: listening to and telling stories. Discovering this formally opened my process of self-knowledge, it allowed me to align all of my actions and energies toward a unique life project that I am building now.

Since I was a child I have felt great fascination for stories regardless of format or theme. I have always avidly explored ancient mythologies, modern tales, books, films, games, historical and family events, but it was only when I immersed myself in my path that I started noticing coherent connections, verifiable patterns among all of these narratives. The four great catalysts of this process were my work in the area of news reporting here in Venezuela, a tabletop roleplaying game called Mage: The Awakening, my first ceremonies with ancestral plants and the HBO show Westworld, which gave me various perspectives about the same topics that I will elaborate later on.

What I want to impress upon you today is that everything we see and feel in this material world is a fiction, a story that activates and functions based on our beliefs and thoughts. Money, religion, politics, science, art, mysticism, dreams, memories, even the buildings in which we live and the sky above our heads, are stories that mirror each other with perfect precision. During the years, I have methodically corroborated that everything that occurs within and around us is organized in fully readable narratives threads that in turn resonate in every work ever created by humanity. In subsequent articles I will offer more details about this vision and its meaning.

El sendero del Cuentacuentos

Hace algunos años, durante un período en el cual experimenté enormes transformaciones y revelaciones personales, pude comprender mi Propósito, la misión ulterior que debo cumplir durante mi tiempo en este mundo: escuchar y contar historias. Descubrir ésto inauguró formalmente mi proceso de auto-conocimiento, me permitió alinear todas mis acciones y energías hacia un único proyecto de vida que estoy construyendo ahora.

Desde niño he sentido gran fascinación por las historias sin discriminación de formato o tema. Siempre he explorado ávidamente mitologías antiguas, cuentos modernos, libros, películas, juegos, eventos históricos o familiares, pero fue sólo cuando me adentré en mi camino que comencé a notar entre todas estas narrativas conexiones coherentes, patrones verificables. Los cuatro grandes catalizadores de este proceso fueron mi trabajo en el área de noticias acá en Venezuela, un juego de rol de mesa llamado Mage: The Awakening, mis primeras ceremonias con medicinas ancestrales y la serie Westworld de HBO, que me dieron diversas perspectivas sobre los mismos temas, en las que ahondaré más adelante.

Lo que quiero recalcar hoy es que todo lo que vemos y sentimos en este mundo material es una ficción, una historia que se activa y funciona con base en nuestras creencias y pensamientos. Dinero, religión, política, ciencia, arte, misticismo, sueños, memorias, incluso los edificios en los que vivimos y el cielo sobre nuestras cabezas, son historias que se reflejan mutuamente con perfecta precisión. Durante los años, he corroborado metódicamente que todo lo que sucede dentro de nosotros y en nuestro entorno está organizado en hilos narrativos plentamente legibles, que a su vez resuenan en todas las obras alguna vez creadas por la humanidad.
