"Evil" is just unhealed pain

As you can see, the Rune I extracted last night was Hagalaz, the hardest of them all. Every time I extract this Rune I know that I'll have to work on something complicated and the dream I had with it was no exception. Before explaining what it was about, I'm going to offer you some context.

Yesterday we were visited by the stylist who has been seeing to our hair for the past two years at home. She's a woman with an enormous spiritual capacity that she hasn't trained for fear of the responsibility it implies but who, like all of us, is forced to exercise this capacity in the places she inhabits anyway. In one of her first visits she asked me for a Rune reading and, since then, my sister and I have worked a lot with her on emotional and energetic issues. This time she came to give me a haircut and afterwards she asked me to clarify a doubt with a Rune, whose message was actually pretty favorable in the areas that seemed to be her greatest concern, but as the conversation progressed, she slowly revealed deeper topics which led to the death of a friend, murdered in her home a month and half ago in very strange circumstances. This friend has tried to communicate with her from another plain to give her a message of vital importance, but she has resisted. Before she left, however, we managed to extract part of that message, which involved some kind of very sinister work whose goal and details aren't for my sister and me to know.

The dream I had was directly associated with this event. It was quite long and I saw many things, but I focus here on the most relevant theme: I could see a girl possessed by a presence so dark that it scared me at first, which doesn't often happen to me in oneiric spaces. As the experience continued, I could perceive that this presence wasn't malevolent but deeply sorrowful and that it was trapped in a place from the past. Toward the end of the dream, my fear had vanished, I could see the girl and the shadow as clearly distinct entities, although bound by this enormous sadness that, I could feel, I was meant to witness but not solve.

Either in dream or in vigil, the monsters, ghosts and demons that we encounter in our world have a place and fulfill a purpose. Their "evil" is nothing else but suffering unrecognized and, therefore, unhealed. Beyond the fear that they may inspire in us shines the Light of Compassion, with which we can disarm them and see, without covers, the profound suffering that grieves them.

El "Mal" es sólo dolor no sanado

Como pueden ver, la Runa que extraje para la noche fue Hagalaz, la más difícil de todas. Siempre que extraigo esta Runa sé que tendré que trabajar algo complicado y el sueño que tuve con ella no fue una excepción. Antes de explicarles de qué se trató, voy a ofrecerles algo de contexto.

Ayer nos visitó la estilista que nos atiende en casa desde hace casi dos años. Es una mujer con una enorme capacidad espiritual que no ha entrenado por temor a la responsabilidad que esta implica pero que, como todos nosotros, igual se ve obligada a ejercer esta capacidad en los entornos en los que habita. En una de sus primeras visitas me pidió una lectura de Runas y, desde entonces, mi hermana y yo hemos trabajado bastante con ella temas emocionales y energéticos. En esta ocasión vino a cortarme el cabello y luego me pidió que le aclarase una duda con una Runa, cuyo mensaje fue de hecho muy favorable en las áreas que parecían ser su mayor preocupación, pero a medida que transcurrió el diálogo, fue revelando temas más profundos que desembocaron en la muerte de una amiga, asesinada en su casa hace mes y medio en circunstancias muy extrañas. Esta amiga ha intentado comunicarse con ella desde otro plano para darle un mensaje de vital importancia, pero ella se ha resistido. Antes de que se fuese, no obstante, pudimos extraer parte de ese mensaje, que involucraba algún tipo de trabajo bien siniestro cuyo objetivo y detalles no nos corresponde a mi hermana ni a mí saber.

El sueño que tuve estuvo directamente asociado a este evento. Fue muy extenso y vi muchas cosas, pero me enfoco aquí en el tema más resaltante: pude ver a una niña poseída por una presencia tan oscura que al principio me generó temor, cosa que no me ocurre en espacios oníricos con frecuencia. A medida que fue avanzando la experiencia, pude percibir que esta presencia no era malévola sino profundamente triste y que estaba atrapada en un lugar del pasado. Hacia el final del sueño, mi temor se había desvanecido y podía ver a la niña y a la sombra como entidades claramente separadas, aunque unidas por esa enorme tristeza que, según sentí, me competía atestiguar pero no resolver.

Sea en sueño o en vigilia, los monstruos, fantasmas y demonios que nos encontramos en nuestro mundo tienen un lugar y cumplen un propósito. Su "maldad" no es otra cosa que sufrimiento no reconocido y, por ende, no sanado. Más allá del temor que puedan inspirar en nosotros se encuentra la Luz de la Compasión, con la que podemos desarmarlos y ver, sin maquillajes, el sufrimiento profundo que los acongoja.
