The expansion of the comfort zone

Yesterday I finally finished a very important article for my process about the situation in my country and what this represents for Hive. I went through several doubts while writing it and before and after publishing, I felt a bout of fear that, paradoxically, cheered me up a lot because it indicated that I was breaking a barrier. From today on, I'm a freer man and I have a different access to my creative resources, as well as the resources of the platform.

Fear has never paralyzed me, but at this moment, after an inner work of great intensity, it's become a tool; I use it always as a sort of compass that marks the route of exploration that I must walk, since every fear informs me about an area of my being that I must tend to in order to free myself from prejudices and restrictions. The effects of this exploration potentiate each other, so that every fear that I find is much easier and faster to unravel than the previous one.

Since I've been having my first experiences with horses, I've been learning concepts that were unknown to me. One of them is the home ground or haunt, the horse's area of security where it can rest and eat. The animal always seeks to return to that space especially when it's stressed, it's only through human action that it abandons that area. We also have our physical, mental and emotional haunts; places, activities, beliefs and relationships that provide us with security even if it's false. Unlike horses, however, we have the simple but enormous capacity to choose to get out of these contexts by ourselves, of gaining trust in the unknown. Haunts don't disappear when we do this, nor do we leave them behind, we merely expand them.

Although the concept and feeling of Home remains untouched in our Heart as an immovable core, we can draw increasingly larger circles from that center, empowering the fire of familiarity and protection so that its light reaches farther. Of course, this demands that we move through dark regions, but when we decide to take the step our Home automatically increases its size, the fear diminishes along with the pain, while freedom rises and therefore, the pleasure of living.

La expansión de la zona de confort

Ayer finalmente terminé un artículo muy importante para mi proceso sobre la situación de mi país y lo que ésto representa para Hive. Pasé por varias dudas al escribirlo y antes y después de publicarlo, sentí un golpe de miedo que, paradójicamente, me alegró mucho pues me indicó que estaba rompiendo una barrera. Desde hoy, soy un hombre más libre y tengo un acceso distinto a mis recursos creativos, así como a los recursos de la plataforma.

El miedo nunca me ha paralizado, pero en este momento, después de un trabajo interno de gran intensidad, se ha convertido en una herramienta; lo uso siempre como una suerte de brújula que me señala la ruta de exploración que debo seguir, ya que cada miedo me informa sobre una área de mi ser en la cual debo atender para liberarme de prejuicios y restricciones. Los efectos de esta exploración se potencian entre sí, por lo que cada miedo que encuentro es muchísimo más fácil y rápido de deshilvanar que el anterior.

Como he estado teniendo mis primeras experiencias con caballos, he estado aprendiendo conceptos que me eran desconocidos. Uno de ellos es el de la querencia, el área de seguridad del caballo donde puede descansar y comer. El animal siempre va a buscar volver a ese espacio especialmente cuando está estresado, es únicamente por acción humana que lo abandona. Nosotros también tenemos nuestras querencias físicas, mentales y emocionales; lugares, actividades, creencias y relaciones que nos proporcionan seguridad así sea falsa. A diferencia de los caballos, no obstante, tenemos la sencilla pero enorme capacidad de elegir salir de estos entornos por nuestra cuenta, de ganar confianza en lo desconocido. Las querencias no desaparecen cuando lo hacemos, ni las dejamos atrás tampoco, sólo las expandimos.

Si bien el concepto y sentimiento de Hogar permanece intacto en nuestro Corazón como un centro inamovible, podemos trazar círculos cada vez más grandes desde ese centro, vigorizando el fuego de familiaridad y protección para que su luz llegue más lejos. Por supuesto, ésto demanda que nos movamos por regiones oscuras, pero cuando decidimos dar el paso automáticamente nuestro Hogar incrementa su tamaño, el miedo disminuye y con él el dolor, mientras que la libertad aumenta y por ende, el placer de vivir.
