Many faces, one Truth

We all feel connections with characters both historical and fictional: a medieval king, a modern female painter, an Egyptian God or a sorceress in a film resound in us either because of the way they use their talents, their attitude toward tribulations or just their appearance. In my narrative studies I've confirmed that these resonances always have very precise reasons that we can extract for our benefit.

Just like the flesh-and-bone people and physical contexts we know are reflections of our inner self, the figures and places we see in books, films or videogames are expressions of aspects our being and there are clear motives for our having contact with them. The ancient cultures were well aware of these parallelisms and thus they used them to tell the sacred stories of their civilizations, as a system to decode the dual illusion of this physical existence and reveal the underlying and immutable Truth, so their gods, heroes and demons are constructs whose study helps us dismantle our Ego. This is a property that myths fully share with modern legends such as Game of Thrones, The Matrix or Lord of the Rings, and also with the tales of verifiable events such as wars, the founding of nations or scientific discoveries.

If you feel a special affinity toward characters such as Jon Snow and Galadriel, deities such as Zeus and Isis or figures such as Hypatia of Alexandria and Napoleon Bonaparte, it's because they're revealing to you something important for your self-discovery. These affinities may decline over time and others take their place, but they're all worthy of serious study as they can offer us windows for Awareness. My invitation is that you investigate these relationships in depth and compare them with events and people in your life, I guarantee that you'll find extremely valuable data for your process.

Múltiples rostros, una Verdad

Todos sentimos conexiones con personajes tanto históricos como ficticios: un rey medieval, una pintora moderna, un dios egipcio o una hechicera en una película resuenan en nosotros sea por la forma en que usan sus talentos, su actitud ante las tribulaciones o tan solo su apariencia. En mis estudios narrativos he confirmado que estas resonancias siempre tienen razones muy precisas que podemos extraer para nuestro beneficio.

Así como las personas de carne y hueso y los contextos físicos que conocemos son reflejos de nuestro interior, también las figuras y lugares que vemos en libros, películas o videojuegos son expresiones de aspectos de nuestro ser y hay motivos claros por los que tenemos contacto con ellos. Las culturas antiguas estaban muy al tanto de estos paralelismos y por eso los usaron para contar las historias sagradas de sus civilizaciones, como un sistema para decodificar la ilusión dual de esta existencia física y revelar la Verdad subyacente e inmutable, por lo que sus dioses, héroes y demonios son constructos cuyo estudio nos ayuda a desmantelar nuestro Ego. Esta es una propiedad que los mitos comparten plenamente con las leyendas modernas como Juego de Tronos, La Matriz o El Señor de los Anillos, y también con los relatos de eventos verificables como guerras, la fundación de naciones o hallazgos científicos.
