The Thread of Ariadne

There are two Runes that I always associate to a greater or lesser degree with the Third Eye and one of them is Ingwaz, the one you see in this reading; it is a Rune that speaks of the capacity to open our vision and penetrate the hidden, so I think it appropriate to talk about this natural human ability that we all use regardless of whether we believe in it or not: Intuition.

Surely you have heard of Ariadne, the daughter of King Minos who, with her golden thread, allowed Theseus to enter the Labyrinth, kill the Minotaur and go back out without getting lost. This threat is a symbol of Love, of Divine Will, of Fate. It represents that unbreakable and ineffable coherence that underlies everything we see and feel, the Master Flow that connects everything to the Source. The deeper we delve into ourselves, walking our Labyrinth and killing (integrating) our inner monsters, the more connected we are with this flow, which carries us inexorably to our most profound essence. The Threat is always true, always reliable and once we take it between our fingers, we can no longer get lost.

Intuition is our uttermost guide, our Star in the firmament. It tells us not only where we must go but also what we must do, in what order and when. It is rooted in our Three Capitals, the Stomach, the Heart and the Mind. Every signal of our bodies, every message of our emotions, every relationship that we establish without intellectual analysis, give us precise and detailed information of our Now. Being in the Present implies taking this Thread, navigating this Flow and accepting everything that we receive through it. This demands complete surrender and trust from us, not easy when we have been (un)schooled for generations to fear and distrust everything, a corruption of the healthy practice of questioning our surroundings.

Following my Intution has always benefitted me at all levels. Ignoring it has brought me increasingly greater difficulties. Intuition is our direct line with the Universe and when we do not pick up, our reality decoheres from the All, which generates Noise and Shadow, like a stubborn gear that refuses to turn at the same time as its peers, but is inescapably pushed by the inertia of the entire Mechanism, often suffering damage to its integrity in the process.

How do we follow our Intuition? First, let us acknowledge it as part of our capacities. Then we must hone our attention, which necessarily involves reducing our judgment. By paying attention, by truly being in the moment, we can listen, see and feel much more, and all of that is giving us information. That information is verifiable and allows us to make much more assertive decisions. We have to trust our hunches, our gut feelings, the ideas and memories that emerge suddenly in our minds. We do not need to understand, only surrender. If you are not doing it yet, try it. Of course, you will have to face your Minotaurs, but that is inevitable anyway, resistance is futile.

El Hilo de Ariadna

Hay dos Runas que siempre asocio a mayor o menor medida con el Tercer Ojo y una de ellas es Ingwaz, la que ven en esta lectura; es una Runa que habla de la capacidad de abrir nuestra visión y penetrar lo oculto, por lo que me resulta apropiado hablar de esta habilidad natural humana que todos usamos independientemente de si creemos en ella o no: la Intuición.

Seguramente han escuchado de Ariadna, la hija del Rey Minos quien, con su hilo de oro, le permitió a Teseo entrar en el Laberinto, matar al Minotauro y volver a salir sin perderse. Este hilo es un símbolo del Amor, de la Voluntad Divina, del Destino. Representa esa coherencia inquebrantable e inefable que subyace a todo lo que vemos y sentimos, el Flujo Maestro que conecta todo a la Fuente. Mientras más nos adentramos en nosotros mismos, recorriendo nuestro Laberinto y matando (integrando) nuestros monstruos internos, más conectados estamos con este flujo, que nos lleva inexorablemente a nuestra más profunda esencia. El Hilo es siempre cierto, siempre confiable y una vez lo tomamos en nuestros dedos, no es posible ya perdernos.

La Intuición es nuestra máxima guía, nuestra Estrella en el firmamento. Nos dice no sólo hacia dónde debemos ir sino qué debemos hacer, en qué orden y cuándo. Está radicada en nuestras Tres Capitales, el Estómago, el Corazón y la Mente. Toda señal de nuestros cuerpos, todo mensaje de nuestras emociones, toda relación que establecemos sin análisis intelectual, nos dan información precisa y detallada de nuestro Ahora. Estar en el Presente implica tomar este Hilo, navegar este Flujo y aceptar todo lo que recibimos por él. Ésto demanda de nosotros total entrega y confianza, nada fácil cuando nos han (des)educado por generaciones a temerle a todo, a desconfiar de todo, una corrupción de la saludable práctica de cuestionar nuestro entorno.

Seguir mi Intuición siempre me ha beneficiado a todos los niveles. Ignorarla me ha traído dificultades de cada vez mayor envergadura. La Intuición es nuestra línea directa con el Universo y cuando no la atendemos, nuestra realidad pierde coherencia con el Todo, lo cual genera Ruido y Sombra, como un engranaje terco que se rehusa a girar a la par de sus compañeros, pero se ve empujado sin escapatoria por la inercia de todo el Mecanismo, con frecuencia sufriendo daño a su integridad en el proceso.

¿Cómo seguir nuestra Intuición? Primero reconozcámosla como parte de nuestras capacidades. Luego debemos afinar nuestra atención, lo cual involucra necesariamente disminuir nuestro juicio. Al prestar atención, al estar realmente en el momento, podemos escuchar, ver y sentir mucho más, y todo eso nos está dando información. Esa información es verídica y nos permite tomar decisiones muchísimo más asertivas. Tenemos que confiar en nuestras corazonadas, nuestras sensaciones, nuestros sentimientos, las ideas y recuerdos que surgen repentinamente en nuestra mente. No es necesario entender, sólo entregarnos. Si aún no lo hacen, pruébenlo. Eso sí, tendrán que encontrarse con sus Minotauros, pero eso es inevitable de cualquier forma, resistirnos no tiene punto.
